Second Life 8/29

Ok. I've spent the last hour or two on Second Life.  Mostly just "dressing up" my avatar (I feel like my little girl changing clothes on Polly Pocket or some other doll).  I'm not sure at this point I understand the purpose and function of this game other than meeting people.  Not quite comfortable with some of the language and name calling I observed from other avatars. I guess I need to understand the mission/goal.  Keeping my mind open....

Blog set up 8/29

Hello there fellow students.  This is my first blog.  I know several of you have other blogs that you use with your classes.  Since I work in a juvenile justice setting, where students are permitted only supervised Internet access, it really hasn't been an option I could use in my classroom.  I'm looking forward to learning new concepts and growing in my field.
